Hi, my name is Joyce Novotny-Prettiman and this is your Legal Tip Tuesday from the Quatrini Law Group. I’d like to talk to you a little bit today about concussion awareness. We have so many people that are in motor vehicle accidents and they end up suffering a concussion. A concussion is different for everyone who goes through the treatment of those types of injuries. It can vary as far as your recovery period, especially  depending upon whether you have previously had a concussion. So these symptoms of a concussion can be very nuanced and it may be something that’s not picked up on at the emergency room. So if after an auto accident, you find yourself suffering from double vision, sensitivity to light or sound, headaches, foggy thinking, feeling like you’re slow, feeling like you’re not yourself, and you don’t really know what’s going on. Make sure you mention all those symptoms to your doctor because there are a number of very effective treatments for concussions, but your doctor has to make sure that he understands that these are the things that you’re experiencing and understanding. So don’t be afraid to pass along that information for your doctor. Get the treatment that you need so that you can get better as soon as you can. That’s your Legal Tip Tuesday. Thanks for listening.
