The Social Security Administration has redesigned Social Security Statements to make the information easier to access and understand. It is recommended to check your statement once a year to check your earnings record and make sure it is accurate.
In addition, when you log onto socialsecurity.gov/reviewyourstatement, you can also:
- See your personalized monthly retirement benefit estimates (which now display how much you can expect to receive depending on when you decide to start your benefits between ages 62 and 70);
- Review other useful information that will explain your benefits and help you prepare for your financial future; and
- Access new fact sheets that provide additional information based on your specific age group and earnings situation. Fact sheets also cover “How You Become Eligible for Benefits,” “Medicare Ready,” and “Supplemental Security Income and Other Benefits.”
