My name is Erika Dowd and this is your Legal Tip Tuesday with Quatrini Law Group. We’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about whether we do DIC benefit claims. DIC benefits or dependence indemnity compensation is a type of benefit from the Department of Veterans Affairs for survivors of deceased veterans. Survivors are only eligible for the claim if they are a spouse or dependent child who has lost their source of income through the veteran. The veteran had to be either 100% service connected for another condition or service connected for the condition which ultimately caused their death. If you think you may be eligible for this claim, yes, we do do DIC claims when we can be helpful.
