Hi, this is Brian Bronson for Legal Tip Tuesday and today I’m going to talk about why it’s a good idea to hire the same law firm and the same lawyer at times for your case and specifically when you have a long-term disability case and a social security case, or workers compensation case. It’s very important that you hire the same law firm and/or the same lawyer to handle your case if possible.

Now, all our lawyers at QuatriniRafferty don’t do all the different disability practice areas. However, we do specialize in certain practice areas such as workers, compensation, long-term disability, and social security disability, as well as veteran’s disability cases. And if you had a long-term disability case and a social security disability case, then it’s a good idea to have the same lawyer or at least the same law firm handling both of those cases because a lot of the work is duplicative in those cases and evidence, which can help in one case can also help in the other case.

Sometimes when you are with a different law firm for different types of cases, for instance, if you have one law firm handling your workers’ compensation case and one handling your social security disability case, those lawyers, even though they might have the best of intentions to be in contact with each other, are not going to be on in contact on a daily basis. And when you hire QuatriniRafferty to do your cases, we try to keep the lawyer that’s handling your major cases handling both of your cases. For instance, if Michael Quatrini is handling your veteran’s case, he would also try to handle your social security case.

If I was handling your long-term disability case, I would also try to handle your social security case at the same time. And what that enables me to do is I don’t have to learn two files. I know the files; I know the evidence. When I try to get evidence to support one claim, I’m also using that same evidence to help support another claim. It’s not that we can’t work with other law firms. We actually do work very nicely with other law firms to handle social security and workers’ compensation, and we take on other types of cases. But it is very much easier for us to handle the case all in house and do it all to the best of our ability. We’re in direct communication with you and with the other lawyer that’s handling the case. So, just remember if you do have a workers’ compensation case, and a social security case, a long-term disability case even a PI case. It is in your best interest to try and find a law firm that can handle all of those types of cases in house together and working in coordination with each other. Thanks.
