Legal Tip Tuesday: E-bikes: Know the law; Know the risks

We’ve been seeing e-bikes all around our neighborhoods. And the issue we keep coming up with is some ordinances are being passed in different townships trying to cram these e-bikes into a new category. They’re already contemplated under Pennsylvania law. And I’ve laid out the full details of that on our blog. You can find it. But in today’s Legal Tip Tuesday, I want to remind everybody that there are very real consequences when you entrust your child with a bicycle capable of going faster than 20 miles an hour. So, be careful about where they’re riding it, who is riding it, and really think about the legal consequences that could befall them. But even more important than that, the danger, the injury that your child could face or anybody could face because of these e-bikes. So get informed.
