In this Legal Tip Tuesday, Attorney Michael Quatrini explains what happens after a veteran receives a VA rating decision. Michael walks through the three appeal options available to veterans: Supplemental Claims, Higher-Level Reviews, and Board Appeals, including when each option may be appropriate.
I’m Michael Quatrini. Welcome to Legal Tip Tuesday. After a veteran applies for a benefit, they will eventually receive a rating decision. That rating decision can be appealed one of three ways. The supplemental claim appeal where we just submit new evidence, ask them to readjudicate it. The high review where we’re pointing out a technical mistake that the VA might have made based on the evidence that is already in the file or the board appeal where we actually have a hearing, we’re able to submit evidence and submit new testimony before a veterans law judge. This is Michael Quatrini welcoming you to our office. Thank you.
