The act covers any employee who works in the city of Pittsburgh.
It still covers you as long as you work in the city.
You accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours of work up to a maximum of 72 hours per year if the employer has 15 or more employees. If it’s uh less than 15 employees, it’s uh 48 hours.
Okay? Okay. So, if you have a larger employee employee group, you get a few more extra sick days.
That’s right. It’s 15 or more. It’ be up to be nine days and 5 days if it’s less than 15.
Now, does my employer require me to have a doctor’s note to take sick leave?
They can if you’re absent for three or more days, but not if you’re less than three days.
Um, is the sick time just for me or what if one of my children is sick?
It would apply if you um if a family member is sick as well as yourself. So, it would apply for your child.
And my last question is, what if my employer tells me I can’t use my sick time?
Well, the there is an anti-retaliation provision. So, if they refuse to allow you to take your sibling or if they retaliate against you, you can file a complaint with the office of equal protection at the city of
